Oiva Toikka is one of the greatest names in Finnish design. His iconic Birds by Toikka collection first took flight in 1972 with the creation of his small glass Flycatchers at the Nuutajärvi glass factory. Created in close collaboration with the glassblowers, the Birds by Toikka collection combined Toikka’s passion for nature and blown glass art. In 2014 the production of the series was transferred to the Iittala Glass Factory, where Toikka continued his close partnership with the team. Each handcrafted and mouthblown bird has its own personality making it a truly one of a kind art object. The Birds by Toikka collection embodies Toikka’s endless imagination. Iittala re-launches the original Flycatcher design from the 1970’s. The colourful glass bird features a simple, transparent body in fresh lemon with a copper beak. Reflects light beautifully. A lovely home decoration that makes a precious gift.
