Ruutu’s simple, perfectly symmetrical design from creators Ronan and Erwan Boroullec belies the extensive process behind making the mouthblown glass vase. Each special vase takes seven craftsmen at the Iittala Glass Factory a total of 24 hrs to produce. The intricate process includes each piece being mouthblown into a steel mould and then hand polished. Likewise, the pure, even toned beauty of Ruutu’s vivid palette of watercolour hues best highlights Iittala’s unique coloured glass expertise. Winner of the iF and Red Dot design awards.
