OXO

Oxo strives to solve everyday problems that most people don't even know exist. By believing that there is always a better way, Oxo has designed a complete line of kitchen tools that turn unnecessary challenges into satisfying moments. Based in New York City and using primarily stainless steel, silicone, and plastic in their works, Oxo gives a fresh perspective on how we prepare food.

Oxo: It all started with a peeler
Oxo first began over 30 years ago when Sam Farber noticed his wife, Betsey, who had mild arthritis, struggling with a peeler. Farber knew there was a better way, and just like that, Oxo was born. Since that point, Oxo has designed countless kitchen tools available at Didriks, from innovative pop containers to superb salad spinners.

Oxo Good Grips: Making kitchen tools better for Everyone
When designing that first peeler, a key factor in making it more accessible for everybody was the soft, black, oval-shaped handle. That design, the Good Grips handle, has since been incorporated into all Oxo kitchen utensils where it is possible, including salt and pepper grinders, whisks, and soap dispensers. The soft, comfortable Good Grips material is made from thermoplastic rubber, an unheard-of substance in kitchen tools before being brought to prominence by Oxo. Founder Sam Farber decided to use this material for its soft, non-slip properties (wet or dry) and because it is dishwasher-safe and can easily be bonded with other materials like stainless steel.
