Lotta Olsson (b.1982) is a Swedish illustrator known for her imaginative images of trees. Born into a family with a close relationship to the forest, the foundation of Olsson’s work lies in her strong connection to nature. The herbariums that she has collected since childhood have expanded into a digital collection of plants and flowers as well as visual memories of personal moments and travel. Her imaginary forests do not follow the traditional dictates of nature but rather a fantastical exploration into the shapes and strong visual details of a tree. Olsson’s work has gained recognition in her native Sweden and she has been part of several international exhibitions as well. Her colorful, playful designs are a part of Iittala’s Sarjation.
