Design pioneer Alvar Aalto’s asymmetrical, soft waves (“aalto” in Finnish) have become a staple of Scandinavian interior design since the Iittala commissioned piece won the 1937 Paris World Fair. Inspired by his native Finnish landscape, the iconic design showcases function and sculpture. Each unique crystal vase is mouthblown at the Iittala Glass Factory, hand cut and then polished several times.
